Go to the mountain if you must
Go to the burning bush
If it would ease your troubled mind..
Starting from our resident Mountain roaster in the Scandinavian Alps (NO) to a newfound companion in the Julian Alps (SL) to end in the valley at the foot of Lindenberg Mountain (CH).
Everything they try has that theme if it doesn't feel badass then they simply don't do it.
Similar to a kind of mode in life.
He became our Mountain roaster resident year after year and we hope to continue this for a long time.
I believe that each coffee roastery is a maestro orchestrating its unique symphony of flavors.
Can you tell us your story?
This must be the 5th year now. Wow, time flies.
Yes, the story.
I will keep it short and sweet like our coffee.
Canadian-born and skied around the globe teaching skiing. Met love and my future wife in Australia (and coffee there).
Moved to Hemsedal and needed some new challenges outside skiing so I started a micro Roastery in 2016.
Been growing organically ever since.
Crazy ride.
In our Toronto specialty box we had some awesome coffees from great roasters.
How is the coffee in Norway compared with Canada?
The taste, the tools, and all the code about Coffee bring me to the Coffee Industry, always want to learn more and share.
I have lived in Scandinavia for 10+ years now.
But Canadian coffee was not the best growing up.
I drank tea because of my British parents.
Specialty has blown up there now and microbreweries.
So I would say Norway was one of the leaders of specialty but Canada has caught up and is right up there with great quality coffee and people who care about it.
I love this place it reminds me of the insignificance of both myself and my troubles.
What attracted you to the mountains?
Powder powder powder.
Been addicted since 1998.
When I moved to the Canadian Rockies after university I still remember waking up with these giant peaks and being inspired to start every day.
The mountains have been home ever since.
With this, we refer to why we go to the mountains:
For Jerry it’s not only for doing outdoor sports but it's also a means to cherish the little joys of life.
Why do you go to the mountains?

Merry Christmas

But now finally we have them in our box.
From the beautiful valley at the Kaminski Alps.
I've had great coffee there.
Can you tell us why they can produce such great coffees?
I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed our coffee.
Colombia has a rich coffee tradition with over half a million families directly involved in coffee production, which amounts to about 2 million people, roughly the same population as Slovenia.
Coffee has been cultivated in Colombia for about 300 years, mainly consisting of bourbon and typical Arabica varietals.
The country's location, sharing a latitude with Ethiopia where coffee originally originated, has been conducive to coffee growth.
Additionally, Colombia's three mountain ranges in the Andes offer diverse altitudes for coffee cultivation, ranging from 1200 to 2200 meters above sea level.
Typically, higher altitudes lead to more intense flavor development.
Furthermore, in the early 20th century, there was a government initiative to break up large coffee estates and distribute them to individual families.
This approach has enabled small, family-owned plots of land to thrive in coffee production, fostering a tradition of quality control and meticulous care in the process."
From the source, I personally selected the coffees that are currently en route to you.
These are the freshest Colombian coffees you'll find in Europe, as they were harvested in May and meticulously processed throughout the summer.
The coffee embarked on its journey from Colombia at the end of September and was freshly roasted just yesterday.
One of the featured coffees is El Aguacate, a classic I've been selling for over seven years.
It was the first winner of the Cup of Excellence in Colombia and is a prime example of the exceptional quality of washed Caturra beans from Nariño, the southern region of Colombia.
Additionally, we have El Diviso and Buenavista, both of which are produced by indigenous families in Colombia.
These humble families have been refining their agricultural techniques with Caravela's support to showcase the unique terroir that washed coffees from this region have to offer.
I love this place it reminds me of the insignificance of both myself and my troubles.
What attracted you to the mountains?
I often feel like a sailor who was born at sea but decided to experience the ocean from the shore.
I hail from a high-altitude Andean city, situated at 2700 meters above sea level.
My family hails from the Sierra Nevada del Cocuy, specifically the towns of El Cocuy and Guacamayas, which are located over 3000 meters above sea level.
These towns sit near the endless snow-capped mountain peaks, reaching heights of 5800 meters above sea level.
When you're riding a wave, you don't truly see the wave itself; you need to go ashore to observe how it rises and vanishes.
This metaphor encapsulates how I feel in Ljubljana, living in the lowlands where I can witness the majesty of the Alps.
In the Andes, you are immersed in the mountains, and you never truly see them from a distance."
With this, we refer to why we go to the mountains:
For Jerry it’s not only for doing outdoor sports but it's also a means to cherish the little joys of life.
Why do you go to the mountains?
Or your mountains in Colombia :-)..
They're like silent giants, their presence evolving subtly through the seasons.
They tend to reveal their grandeur more prominently on sunny winter days compared to the summer.
And in Colombia, within the Andes, the landscape is a breathtaking tapestry of vibrant green, displaying a wide spectrum of colors.
If these flavor profiles vanish, so too does the rich culture and picturesque terrain responsible for their creation."

We are fortunate to be the first in Switzerland to represent the Stronghold model S9X.
I have lived in different parts of the world, but I have found my home in Switzerland, which is one of the most beautiful places.
I have always supported an active lifestyle and healthy habits play a very important role in my daily life.
Coffee was always essential in my daily routine, that’s why it was my natural desire to explore its composition.
There are many beneficial compounds found naturally in coffee and caffeine is a major pharmacologically active compound.
A typical cup of coffee provides approximately 75–100mg of caffeine.
This chemical is an all-natural stimulant.
This is the main story behind our brand - “400mg” is the recommended daily dose of caffeine per person, which is also calculated in 4 cups of coffee.
I really think that a good coffee should be accessible to anyone while keeping processes truthful and consistent.
Being a sports enthusiast myself I believe that speciality coffee shares similar principles of healthy work ethic against yourself which leads to building a stronger community.
With the “400mg coffee” We want to share our experience and stories that can best be enjoyed with a cup of freshly roasted and brewed coffee.
We look forward to seeing you soon and taking care of your daily dose of 400mg.
